After 15 days of non-stop action, All Kerala Esports Federation’s Valorant Ultimate Season 1 came to a thrilling end with Xpain’s Tridents securing the grand final win. They defeated Jokers Vandals with scores of 13-6 on both rounds to take home the biggest share of the Rs. 50,000 prize pool. Dafuq Demons and Kaztros Vikings took 3rd and 4th positions respectively.
Presented by AMD, this tournament was exclusive to gamers from the Kerala gaming community and it was the first-ever esports tournament in Kerala with an IPL model of execution. Before the tournament, AKEF conducted a virtual auction where team owners used virtual money to buy players in their teams.
Despite Jokers Vandals best efforts, Xpain’s Tridents did not falter and maintained composure during the grand finals. In fact, their dominance was such that did not lose a single match of the tournament. Rude from Xpain’s Tridents was the MVP of the tournament with an average combat score of 332 and 229 kills in 11 matches, while Retnox and Caution from Jokers Vandals took the second and third best player spots.
Amal Arjun, the president of AKEF, implies that he never expected such kind of tremendous response towards an event based on a game that’s not yet so popular within the Kerala Gaming Community. “The exposure that the event has generated both for the Valorant and its players among the Kerala Gaming Community is really great. Thanks for AMD, the team owners, and especially the supporters who made all this happen”, he said.
