Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt is coming on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in Q4 this year. On occasion of the original game’s 7-year anniversary, CDPR made an announcement on Twitter saying “We’re delighted to share that the Next Gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is planned to release in Q4 2022.”
Let’s make this 7th anniversary even better, shall we?

CDPR was supposed to launch Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 on next-gen consoles at the end of 2021 but delayed their launch as they wanted more time to work on them. CP 2077 was given a Q1 2022 release window whereas Witcher 3 was given a Q2 2022 window. Now Cyberpunk 2077 did release on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in February but Witcher 3 was hit with another delay.
An exact release of the visually enhanced title will be announced soon. Fans can expect faster load times, higher frame rates, a sense of realism with 3D Audio, and the DualSense Controllers haptic feedback and adaptive triggers feature. Also, the game will be a complete edition meaning it’ll include Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine expansions as well.
A New Witcher title is being developed on Unreal Engine 5
Last month, CDPR also announced that a new Witcher game was under development on the Unreal Engine 5. It’ll mark the beginning of a “new saga for the franchise” and although nothing has been confirmed, this new game might feature Ciri as the main character.
