Valorant Patch 3.06 is finally here, and it is one of the biggest patches to the game in a while. This patch focuses on brining down Jett’s ability to control gun fights via her smokes and optimal movement techniques, and also to make Skye more of a flasher for her teammates, rather than pop-flashing on her own and pushing towards the enemy.
Not just that, Valorant Patch 3.06 brings some good news for KAY/O players, as he has been buffed. The buffs focus on giving KAY/O the element of surprise when flashing enemies. Along with that, his ultimate ability has also become more efficient in how it can be used, and its impact on a given round. The patch also removes bullet penetration from several boxes on plant sites, to make it easier for attackers to plant on site, without having to worry about being headshot through a wall.
Valorant Patch 3.06
Changes to Jett
With Valorant Patch 3.06, Jett will only have two smokes to work with, rather than 3, which has been default since the game came out. The developers’ goal here is to encourage team play, and make Jett mains think about where and how they wish to use utility for the highest impact.
With just two smokes, players will have to tactfully place them and make quick use of them so as to get the most value out of utility.
The second change to Jett comes to her Bladestorm Ultimate ability. Now, alt-fire (right click) kills will no longer replenish Bladestorm knives. This has been done to enable precision, and so that players are not rewarded for accidentally killing an enemy with an alt-fire click. There is a silver lining to this however.
Right click will now be a bit more predictable, and will deal the same damage as left-clicking, which helps bring some uniformity to her kit.
Changes to Skye
Skye has seen a surge in her pick and play rate. This is most likely because of how useful her flashes are, not just at blinding the enemies, but also at gaining intel and identifying where enemies are. Skye can also effectively flash on her own and push forward very quickly. The changes to her wind up time and unequip time have been slightly increased to encourage team play, and to allow her to flash for her teammates rather than herself.
Another change comes to her Seekers. Skye’s ultimate ability will now cost 7 ultimate orbs, rather than the current 6 orbs. She was able to quickly regain her ult and have a large impact on rounds.
Changes to KAY/O
Patch 3.06 changes how KAY/O’s flash works. The flashes will have less of a trail or a telling telegraph before the flash bangs actually pop. The duration of windup telegraph reduced 0.5s >>> 0.3s, duration of windup telegraph reduced on Right Click 1s >>> 0.3s and the audio attached to the in-flight projectile has been removed as well.
Changes to his ultimate also make him all the more effective in rounds, and give more of an impact to his ultimate in a round. The ultimate suppression pulses do not stop even after KAY/O is downed.
Changes to common plant sites
On Fracture, Haven, Ascent, Icebox and Bind, several wallbang-able crates near common plant spots in sites have been changed to give attackers a better chance at pushing into sites and planting the spike.
There are a host of other changes coming with Valorant Patch 3.06, which you can check out in the full patch notes.
