Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) still hasn’t launched and the game is already going through a rough patch. Last month, an MLA from Arunachal Pradesh sent a letter to PM Modi asking him to ban the game, and now, Arvind Dharampuri, MP from Nizamabad in Telangana has written a letter to IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad asking him to examine links between Krafton and Tencent.
According to Zee News, Dharampuri said that he had received a plea against Battlegrounds Mobile India from a local social activist, Sai Kumar. The letter mainly talks about the Terms of Service and privacy policy of the game.
BGMI has a new privacy policy
Battlegrounds Mobile India has an updated privacy policy. When the game was announced, Krafton stated that they have ensured data protection and security at each stage. “With privacy and data security being a top priority, KRAFTON will be working with partners, to ensure data protection and security, at each stage. This will ensure privacy rights are respected, and all data collection and storage will be in full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations in India and for players here,” the company said.
Smooth release not on the cards
Battlegrounds Mobile India might have to go through darker clouds before it makes its way on Android phones in the country. Currently, the game is live for pre-registration on the Google Play Store and it has already crossed 20 million pre-registrations. As for the release date, there are a couple of reports that suggest a June 18 release date but there hasn’t been an official word from Krafton.
