Thanks to a new mod, Skyrim can now be played at 60 FPS on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5
A new mod for Skyrim has been released which will allow fans to play the game at 60 FPS on Sony consoles. The mod is called Skyrim @ 60fps and it will enable the game to be played at 60 FPS on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
Skyrim was first released in 2011 for PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. Back then, graphics were not the game’s best feature but rather its open-world features and combat elements are what kept fans glued to Skyrim for so many years. This mod for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 provides a much needed graphical boost to the almost decade year old game.
How to play Skyrim at 60 FPS-
Download and enable the mod.
Go back into mods and delete/disable the mod.
Even if the mod is deleted or disabled, Skyrim will still run at 60fps.
Note that if you exit from Skyrim, you will need to perform steps 1-3 to re-enable the Skyrim @ 60fps mod. The mod’s author Wrighton also states that this mod will run without disabling trophies only if no other mod is running.
Skyrim at 60 FPS on Xbox Series X
Back in December, an Uncap FPS mod was released which allowed Xbox Series X users to play Skyrim at 60 FPS. Author Smudgey5000 says that this mod disables vsync and removes the 30 FPS cap. Smudgey5000 also points out that although this mod will allow give 60 FPS, it wont be constant and users may experience some stuttering. Unlike the Skyrim @60fps mod, this mod disables achievements.
