Bethesda recently announced Starfield, their upcoming RPG that will allow players to explore the vastness of space. The company did not say a lot about the game but in an interview with The Washington Post, Bethesda Game Studios Executive Producer Todd Howard compared the game to Skyrim. “It’s like Skyrim in space,” he said.
Skyrim came out in 2011 and it’s one of the best-selling video games out there. But there have been a ton of technological advancements since then and Bethesda has used this next-generation technology in the development of Starfield. ‘Starfield will be much more robust than Skyrim,’ adds Howard.
How big is Starfield?
We don’t know the exact scale of it but if it’s described as ‘Skyrim in Space’ fans will be expecting a lot from Starfield in terms of being an open-world title. Bethesda Managing Director Ashley Cheng compares Starfield to Star Wars. ‘Starfield is the Han Solo simulator. Get in a ship, explore the galaxy, do fun stuff,’ he says.
You will have a robot to assist you in Starfield
Todd Howard has also shed some light on Starfield’s gameplay. You will be a part of an organization called Constellation which is the last group of space explorers. At the beginning of the game, you will choose your character’s background and customize it using available options. Your choice will have an impact on how some things in the game unfold. Starfield will also feature companion robots that will help players in their journey.
Starfield release date
Starfield is scheduled to release on November 11, 2022, on Xbox Series X/S and PC.
