Arkane’s upcoming action-adventure game Deathloop is getting 9 minutes of extended gameplay footage. Fans can tune in to watch Sony’s State of Play event on Twitch or YouTube on Thursday at 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET, Friday at 2.30 AM IST to learn more about the contorted world of Deathloop.

The gameplay footage will feature Deathloops protagonist Colt use his abilities to “stealthily skulk across rooftops” and also create havoc with the weapons he has at his disposal.

Break the loop and escape the island of Blackreef

Back in March, Arkane Studios rolled out a video explaining Deathloop’s gameplay because apparently, people were having a hard time understanding how Deathloop exactly works. What we know so far is that Colt is an assassin who is stuck in a time loop on the Island of Blackreef. He has to eliminate 8 targets or “Visionaries” before the day resets. Players have to gather intel, devise strategies, use stealth, and quickly form a perfect loop to escape the island.

Sonys upcoming State of Play event will showcase 9 minutes

Developed by Arkane Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks, Deathloop is scheduled to release on September 14, 2021, for PlayStation 5 and Windows.

More indie and third-party titles to look forward to

Apart from the Deathloop gameplay, Sony will give updates on indie and third-party titles, but not on the upcoming God of War or Horizon Forbidden West games. If you’re waiting to hear about Sony’s upcoming next-generation PSVR system, then you’re in for a disappointment as there won’t be an update on that either.
