“We’re extremely excited to reveal the first look at the latest installment of our award-winning series, Sniper Elite 5, and delighted that so many of you will get to play it as it’s coming to Xbox Game Pass at launch as well as digital and physical releases on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S,” Senior Producers at Rebellion in the Xbox wire post.
Sniper Elite 5 is based on real-world locations from France
The game’s map and its environment are based on real-world locations from France. Players will assume the role of Lt. Karl Fairburne who is tasked with eliminating Nazis and putting a stop to Operation Kraken.
With Sniper Elite 5, the developers are bringing advanced gunplay and travel mechanics. Players will use ziplines and slides to get to the perfect vantage point and factors like barrel weight and gravity will play a crucial role in the game’s gunplay. Players will have the option to customize their weapons with regards to scopes, stocks, barrels, magazines, and more.
There’s an Invasion mode in the game where you’ll be able to infiltrate someone else’s campaign. You can also summon a second sniper to make things easier. The game supports 16 players multiplayer and 4 player co-op.
Details about pre-orders and the exact release date will be revealed later. As of now, you can wishlist the game on Steam.
