Riot’s FPS title Valorant is now a year old and the developer is celebrating this occasion with month-long events and opportunities for players. Valorant was released on June 2, 2020, for PC and since then, the game has amassed a massive player base. As a thank you, Riot Games is bringing several YR1 Events.
To start off, the developer has brought back the Night Market. It features a collection of six weapon skins that are available for purchase at a discounted price. All six weapon skins are randomized and vary from player to player.

Squad boost, account leveling, community battle pass, and more
The squad boost feature will be live from June 22 – July 26, you will get more XP for playing with friends. A party of 2 will give 8% extra XP, party of 3 will give 12% extra XP, party of 4 will give 16% extra XP, and a full lobby, i.e, party of 5 will reward players with 20% extra XP. Squad Boost applies to all game modes except customs. Riot is bringing an account leveling feature as a reward for the time spent playing Valorant. More information about account leveling will be revealed during the Episode 3 live stream on Twitch on June 21, at 10 AM PT / 10.30 PM IST.
Additionally, the YR1 event pass will be available for free from June 22 – July 6 featuring seven levels of items like the Episode 3 Player Card, a Gun Buddy, and more. You don’t need to spend any VP, just play the game, earn XP, and unlock the items. Players can complete the YR1 set by collecting Episode 1 and Episode 2 Player Cards on June 9 and June 14 respectively. Information on how to obtain the Episode 1 Card is not known, but it will be available on June 9. Episode 2 card will be available on June 14 through a special YR1 Prime Gaming Drop.
Valorant YR1 event is also bringing a community battle pass that will be unique to each region. Players can vote for cosmetics like sprays, gun buddies, and titles that will best reflect their region. The cosmetics that get the most votes will appear in Episode Four “community-powered” battle pass. The voting date for each respective region will be revealed soon.
Give Back Bundle
The Give Back Bundle will feature 4 fan-favorite skins. Players can vote between June 2 – June 7 to see which four of their favorite gun skins are included in the Give Back Bundle. Winners will be announced on June 16. The bundle will be available for purchase from June 22 – July 8, and 50% of the proceeds from Weapon skins and 100% from accessories from the bundle will go towards the Riot Games Social Impact Fund, in partnership with Impact Assets.
