Resident Evil 4 VR is releasing on October 21, 2021, exclusively on the Oculus Quest 2, the company announced. The virtual-reality version of RE 4 was revealed earlier this year at the first-ever Oculus Gaming Showcase event.
Capcom has partnered with Armature Studio and Oculus to bring the survival-horror title to VR.
What will Resident Evil 4 look like on VR?
Items and weapons in Resident Evil 4 VR have been re-engineered as physical objects so you can pick and interact with them. Puzzle-solving, weapon switching, and reloading will be done in real-time. You will find all the necessary items on your body like the gun is strapped on your waist, healing items are on your left shoulder, and the knife is on your chest.
With the VR version, the developers are bringing remastered art as well. Resident Evil 4 VR will offer a better resolution compared to the original game as it features remastered art and graphics. All of these factors combined with enhanced audio, promise an immersive gameplay experience.
RE Village
On May 7, Capcom released Resident Evil Village for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Stadia. It made quite the statement after selling over 3 million units in just 4 days. RE Village had one of the biggest launches from other games in the series.
RE Village was supposed to include a multiplayer mode called Re: Verse but it was delayed. Back in June, Capcom announced that they will launch Re: Verse in 2022 and will take this time to work on delivering a smooth gameplay experience.
