A teaser went live showing the “exclusive features” that will be coming to PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds PC, along with the new map “Taego”. Though the teaser is so descriptive and long, but enough to gather some new information and features that will be coming out. Most notably, a player can be seen on his knees while using a medkit, which can be interpreted as a “self-pickup” ability for downed players.
This teaser also shows a Chinook Helicopter (Similar to the one in the Paramo map), an expanding sphere of blue energy like a parallel version of PUBG’s circle, and a bunch of new 5.56 mm guns being a Mark 12 DMR and a K2 assault rifle, which can be seen being fired out from the new vehicle being a Hyundai Pony Coupe. Taego is a Korean location, adding both Hyundai and the K2 AR (Standard service rifle of the Republic of Korea Armed Forces) adds a more Korean touch to this map.
Taego is the first full sized 8×8 map that has been added onto PUBG since Miramar, reports also shows that along with this map, an Island that allows revivals could also go live, a comeback mechanic similar to the one from Call of Duty: Warzone. This update will go live as a part of 12.2 Patch on 7th July 2021. Though the map Taego, codenamed “Kiki” is planned to launch by the end of this year.
