PUBG Mobile India launch date remains unconfirmed as developers seek government’s permission

Ever since PUBG Corporation had announced the return of PUBG Mobile to India in the form of PUBG Mobile India, no real developments have been seen regarding the launch, except for numerous coming soon messages and teasers.

We did see PUBG Mobile India get registered officially, under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs as PUBG India Pvt. Ltd: a privately held entity in the country with Kumar Krishnan Iyer and Hyunil Sohn as the directors.

But it does not mean the game has received clearance for launch as the fate of PUBG Mobile is in the hands of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, who banned the game in the first place.

According to a recent report by InsideSport, a former senior PUBG Mobile official claims that nobody and not even the directors of the newly registered entity PUBG India Pvt. Ltd. know the timelines for the launch of PUBG Mobile India.

In the report, InsideSport has said that, in order to get a lead on the launch status of PUBG Mobile India, they reached out to a former PUBG Mobile official who was very close to the game’s operation in the country, before it was banned and whose name remains undisclosed. Here’s what he had to say:

“No one knows the real timelines for the Mobile version comeback in India, not even the Promoters or Directors. When government bans something, resumption can only happen via their orders. At this stage everyone is clueless”

PUBG India Pvt. Ltd. officials have also been trying to get in touch with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology in order to negotiate and discuss the relaunch of the game. But the ministry refuses to talk regarding the same.

Since the announcement of PUBG Mobile India, no one including the Government, PUBG Corporation and PUBG India Pvt. Ltd. has shared any legitimate details about the game’s relaunch.

Fans have taken it to social media and are questioning PUBG Corporation about the promise they had made a month ago to get the game back to India. But as of now, we are keeping our fingers crossed and hoping that the game actually does come out soon.
