PUBG Mobile esports tournaments to offer total prize pool of 14 million USD in 2021
James Yang, Director of PUBG Mobile Global Esports has revealed what the competitive scene of PUBG Mobile will look like in 2021. According to what he said in a video message, next year, there will be seven pro-leagues for new regions- CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States), Arabia Region, Turkey, Western Europe, North America, Latin America, and Brazil and the 2021-2022 season will feature a total prize pool of $14 million which is almost three times more than the total prize pool of 2020 which was $5 million.
He further elaborates on the plans and says that the 2021-22 season will be divided into four quarters wherein the PMCO’s (PUBG Mobile Club Open) will be played in Q1 and Q3 and PMPLs (PUBG Mobile Pro League) will be conducted in Q2 and Q4. PMGC (PUBG Mobile Global Championship) will be conducted at the end of the year and various invitational events will also take place in Summer.
Will we see Indian teams in the next season?

James Yang says that “2020 has been an incredibly special year for us as we’ve expanded in all aspects and completed our amateur to pro ecosystem, but this was only the beginning. We have huge ambitions to become a tier 1 esports and stand shoulder to shoulder with the biggest games in the world, not just to break boundaries within mobile esports.”
PUBG Mobile has certainly witnessed unprecedented growth in the last couple of years especially in India where the battle royale was highly popular before it got banned. Gamers from India will be hoping that PUBG Mobile India is launched soon and they will be able to participate in tournaments next season. Since, the ban it has been tough for Indian PUBG Mobile teams as they missed two PUBG Mobile tournaments- PMPL SA Fall Split 2020 and the PMGC 2020.
