The Future Games Show: Spring Showcase by GamesRadar+ revealed information and gameplay footage for several upcoming games. The showcase event featured an interview with Zak Garriss, Chief Creative Officer at Deck Nine Games who talked about their upcoming graphic adventure game- Life Is Strange: True Colors.
The previous Life Is Strange games featured choices that affected the outcome of the games. Zak said that True Colors is developed in such a way that players have more control over where they go and who they interact with resulting in “a much bigger space” than what Life Is Strange players are used to.
Life Is Strange: True Colors features a young Alex Chen who can experience the emotions of others around her. Garriss says that “Alex has a supernatural sensitivity to the emotional states of others, allowing her to feel what they feel. It’s not just the ability to read, or be aware of, other peoples’ emotions. If people around her are feeling rage, or grief, or terror, the emotion overwhelms Alex and she feels it too. It gives her an empathic connection with that person, it gives her insight into what’s motivating whatever that person might be going through.”
Garriss says that although Alex thinks her powers are a burden, the game is a story of her learning “to take this curse and do something good with it.”
Life Is Strange: True Colors release date
Life Is Strange: True Colors is scheduled to release on September 10, 2021, on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
