Penta Esports has announced the launch of Penta Amateur League, their first grassroots esports league created exclusively for amateurs and semi-professional esports athletes and teams from the country.
The League has a total prize pool of Rs. 50,00,000 and it will run for 10 months. Each month will feature one or more esports titles across PC, mobile, and console, and a monthly prize pool of Rs. 5,00,000.
Talking about the league, Penta Esports founder and CEO Anurag Khurana said “Our primary vision to start Penta Esports was to bring opportunities to the grassroot players and eventually facilitate the entire journey for esports athletes. This league is the first step in that direction, with more to come in the future.”
Penta Amateur League Season 1
The Penta Amateur League season 1 will run for six months from October 2021 to March 2022, with a monthly prize pool of ₹5,00,000, adding up to a total prize pool of ₹30,00,000.
The first month of season 1 will feature two games- World Cricket Championship 3 (WCC 3) on mobile and Gran Turismo Sport on PS4/PS5, each with a prize pool of Rs. 2,50,000. The registrations for the same will be live from October 6 – October 13 on Penta Esports’ newly launched platform- pentaesports.com.
Matches for this month will be held between October 16 and October 31, starting with qualifiers, then playoffs, and ultimately, the finals. Matches will be broadcasted live from October 29 – October 31 on Penta Esports Facebook and YouTube channels.
The finals will also be preceded by the Penta Talk Show, featuring experts reviewing the qualifiers and discussing the playoffs.
