Dates for the 2021 PAX events were announced back in December 2020 by Penny Arcade, though these dates were tentative as the Covid-19 pandemic wasn’t completely unclear during that time. It’s become somewhat safe in the recent months to the point now here PAX West has been officially confirmed as an in-person event that will be held in September.
PAX West 2021 will be potentially smaller event compared to the pre-Covid era. Other details are yet to be announced, but the organizers say they have been “working with venue officials, local governments, and health authorities to determine event capacity, which will be reduced, and ensure a safe setting.” More information on health and safety protocols will be released along with the other details soon.

“It’s been almost two years since the last PAX West, and it’s been surreal to imagine its triumphant return,” Penny Arcade co-founder Jerry Holkins said. “I can’t think of a better excuse to leave the house than PAX West.”
Covid-19 cases in the Washington State are still climbing up, 1,100 new cases, 72 hospitalizations and 10 deaths were reported this week according to KOMO News. But the state is currently close to a 70% vaccination rate. The Department of Health says Washington “will be open for business and recreation, and people who are vaccinated can go along with their regular lives for the most part.” There will, however, be restrictions on “large indoor events like sports, concerts, and conventions,” which will no doubt interferes with the PAX West planning.
Tickets for PAX West which is scheduled to be held from 3rd to 6th September and will up for sale in the upcoming weeks, costing around $60 for the daily access (Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday) or $230 for a four-day badge.
