Fans have been craving for new updates regarding Overwatch 2, which was introduced in 2019. However, players did receive a tad bit of information in February 2021 during the BlizzCon virtual event. Fans are still looking forward to more updates on Overwatch 1 while they wait for the upcoming sequel to get fully developed.
Those who play the popular FPS on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series have received some good news after downloading yesterday’s patch. Overwatch is now optimized for the new Xbox platforms.
Overwatch performs way better on Xbox Series X/S
The new-gen consoles from Microsoft have abnormally high loading times. However, once players download the newly launched 1.58 patch for Xbox Series X/S players will receive a newly added ‘Preferred
Mode’ Graphics option. Players can choose between three different presets that will instruct what the powerful console’s hardware will prioritize.
Players can prioritize resolution or framerate, or they can go for the popular balanced mode.
1. Resolution Mode- This mode prioritizes higher resolution over the image quality and frame rates. Series X players can achieve 4K resolution at 60 Hz on the other hand Series X can achieve 1440p resolution at 60 Hz.
2. Balanced Mode- This mode prioritizes image quality over resolution. Series X players can achieve 1440p at 60 Hz on the other hand Series S can achieve 1080p at 60 Hz.
3. Framerate Mode- This mode prioritizes raw framerate over everything else. Series X can achieve 1440p at 120 Hz on the other hand Series S owners can achieve 1080p at 120 Hz.
The patch is live for Xbox Series X/S owners to download now. There is no news about similar optimizations for Playstation 5 platforms.
