Outriders hit the 3.5 million player mark in its first month
The Co-op science fiction based game, Outriders went through a rough patch on its debut, but that didn’t stop it from being a hit. Outriders managed to hit the 3.5 million unique player mark during the first month of its launch, with an average play time of around 31 hours. This marks Square Enix’s biggest Steam launch ever, and these numbers are excluding the amount of players who got it through Epic Games Store.
“Launching a new game IP is never easy, and we remain very grateful for the community’s support and feedback,” said Jon Brooke, co-head of studio at Square Enix External Studios. “We continue to listen carefully and want to assure everyone that we are committed to improving and enhancing the experience in the coming weeks and months.”
Brooke also mentioned that new content for this science fiction game is in the making, “We also look forward to expanding on Outriders in the future” he said without revealing many details.
The Square Enix Studio has been collecting some fun stats from these 3.5 million players about what they have been doing in Outriders, which they shared on Twitter. Which shows a total play time of 120 million hours and 1.6 quadrillion points worth of damage in total.
We’re excited to reveal that we surpassed 3.5 million unique players in our first month after launch!
