While NVIDIA GPUs are in scant supply, company CFO Colette Kress expects the situation to improve in the second half of 2022. According to a report by Tom’s Hardware, Kress was speaking at the 24th Annual Needham Growth Conference where she stated that the GPU supply situation is expected to improve in the second half of this calendar year.
“Throughout all of calendar 2021, we have seen strong demand for GeForce. And it continues to remain strong and stronger than our overall supply that we have. The holiday demand, for example, was quite strong, particularly in laptops,” she said. “We had seen channel levels be quite lean, and we are working with our supply chain partners to increase the availability of supply. And we feel better about our supply situation as we move into the second half of the calendar year ’22.”

Chip shortage’s impact on console and CPU supply

The ongoing chip shortage and massive demand have impacted the console and CPU markets as well. Demand exploded to 20% year-over-year and disrupted supply chains created a very large gap … and that exploding demand has persisted,” he said.”
