Nier Replicant exceeds 1 Million Sales, double of what Nier sold in an entire decade
Nier Replicant, a remastered edition of the original 2010 game Nier which was released back in April, has already managed to sell over a million copies. This performance is said to be doing way better than the original version.
The official Twitter account of Nier shared the astonishing news on June 22nd, which is less than two months since the game’s release. In addition to the 1 million sales of Nier Replicant, the 2017’s sequel Nier: Automata sold over 6 million units. However, Automata’s success was somewhat unexpected as the game was released seven years after the first predecessor Nier which failed to impress the fans.

Though the failure of Nier was largely due to the poor gameplay mechanics, however they received a huge improvement for the Nier Replicant. One of those betterments being in the combats which now feel weighty and satisfying as they did back in Automata, with the pre-recorded voice acting and improvised music and much better visuals.
If you haven’t tried your hands on Nier yet, Nier Replicant would be a great place to try it out.
In addition to the Nier Replicant and Nier Automata, a third Nier title called “Nier Reincarnation” will also be coming out soon to both iOS and Android devices, which uses gacha mechanics and a different set of combat system, but it does retains the Nier signature visual and music.
