The fan-favorite action RPG franchise Nier is coming to mobiles, the latest installment NieR Reincarnation will serve as a spinoff to the series. The game is being developed by Applibot and published by Square Enix. The game is already available on the Google Play Store and the App Store but the servers do not go live until 28th July PST.
Despite the previous announcement of a delay, the game is set to release on schedule. Nier itself being the spinoff of the Drakengard series has amassed a huge fan following in recent years. 2017’s NieR: Automata and the recently remastered NieR: Replicant have both been received well by fans and critics alike.
A brainchild of Yoko Taro’s, the NieR franchise is known for its gameplay experience that pairs gut-wrenching action with soothing music. The previous games were also known for their mysterious plots that offer immense replayable content.
Square Enix also announced a crossover event between NieR Reincarnation and Nier: Automata. This means that fan favorites like 2B, 9S, and A2 will be available to play in the mobile game. But the main lead of the game will be Fio, the Girl of Light. She will be accompanied in her journeys by her spooky sidekick MaMa as they traverse their way across the Cage.
