Popular battle royale game, Player Unknown's Battle Grounds, one of the first and most iconic games of genre, is once again the highest selling game on Steam. Player Unknown's BattleGrounds (PUBG), is the highest selling game of the week, as the game is now available at a 50% discount on the Steam store. The game will only be discounted till May 5, so get your hands on it now.
While the Steam weekly data doesn't divulge into great detail, PUBG has been the highest revenue earning title for the past week, owing to the ongoing sale. The game was lauded for its realistic gunplay, intense battle scenarios and for pioneering the battle royale genre.
Other top selling games on Steam are in line with expectations
While PUBG remained the top selling game for the week ending on May 02, a slew of other games have been giving it competition. At the second place is none other than CS:GO's Operation Broken Fang, which is an expansion pack for the long running first person shooter game. CS:GO is followed by It Takes Two, a new release which aims to bring back the good old days of co-op split screen games.
The game has been critically and commercially praised for its interesting narrative and engaging gameplay. A few other top earners from the week include Valve Index VR, NieR Replicant, Death Stranding, Resident Evil VIII (Pre-order) and more. Incidentally, NieR: Automata has re-entered the top 10 list owing to ongoing sales.
If you're a PUBG player, this should come as quite a surprise, as you can expect an influx of new players once again and if you haven't checked out the game off late, there is some new and interesting content to check out. PUBG update 11.2 went live earlier this week and brings a new battle pass, reworks for bridges on Erangel and a few game mechanic changes.
