Apple unveiled its new ARM-based chipset today at the 'One More Thing' virtual event. The Apple M1 is Apple's most powerful chipset yet which designed specifically for the MAC. The M1 is built using cutting-edge 5-nanometer process technology and houses 16 billion transistors.
The 8-core CPU inside the M1 delivers the best CPU performance per watt. The 8 core CPU is divided into 4 high-efficiency cores to run light-weight tasks and 4 high‑performance cores to maximize performance with high efficiency. All of these cores can also be used together to boost multi-thread performance.
The M1 chipset features a Unified Memory Architecture or UMA which unifies the high‑bandwidth, low‑latency memory into a single pool within a custom package. With this technology, image processing becomes 7.1 times faster and video processing becomes 3.9 times faster.
The M1 also features an 8-core integrated GPU that is capable of executing up to 25,000 threads at once and has 2.6 teraflops of throughput. With high graphic performance and low power consumption, you can stream multiple 4k videos and render complex 3D scenes with ease.
M1 chip-set has Apple's latest Neural Engine with a 16-core design that is capable of executing 11 trillion operations per second. Paired with an 8-core GPU and machine learning accelerators, the M1 chip is primed to excel at machine learning.
Apple's most popular notebook now with the latest M1 chip for seamless operations. Be it photo editing, exporting videos for the web, or faster machine learning operations, the new MacBook Air can handle it all without compromising on the performance. MacBook Air also features long battery life with up to 15 hours of wireless web browsing and up to 18 hours of video playback.
The latest MacBook Air also has greater image quality with better noice reduction all thanks to the M1 chip. WiFi 6 allows faster wireless performance and two Thunderbolt ports with USB 4 support allow connectivity with a wide array of peripherals. The new MacBook Air is priced starting at Rs. 92,900 in India.
The 13-inch MacBook Pro is perfect for editing high resolution images, compiling code, and transcoding video without any hassle. With up to 17 hours of wireless web browsing and 20 hours of video playback, MacBook Pro delivers up to twice the battery life of the previous generation and the longest battery life ever on a Mac.
MacBook Pro also features two Thunderbolt ports with USB 4 support and it also offers 6K resolution with Apple’s Pro Display XDR. It is priced starting at Rs 1,22,900 in India.
With a compact design, the MacMini is Apple's most versatile computer. Already a powerhouse with the M1 inside, the MacMini also features an advanced thermal design that keeps it cool.
MacMini supports two displays including Apple’s Pro Display XDR in full 6K resolution and has Wi-Fi 6 for faster wireless performance. The MacMini is priced at Rs. 64,900.
macOS Big Sur
Other than being powered by the M1 chip, these Macs come with the latest version of macOS called Big Sur. It takes full advantage of the M1 and offers faster boot times, more security and longer battery life. Big Sur also brings updates to apps like Safari, Messages, and Maps.
