We’re entering a new year soon with all its good things, we’re getting new video games as well. January 2022 itself is lined up with some exciting releases for PC and consoles and we’ve listed down 5 new video games that you’ll be eager to get your hands on.
New video games coming in January 2022
Monster Hunter Rise (PC) – January 12
Capcom’s action title Monster Hunter Rise is coming to PC (via Steam) on January 12. As hunters, players will explore the game’s massive map, acquire different weapons, and take down ferocious monsters like the Magnamalo and Aknosom. The PC version will feature high-resolution textures, optimized keyboard and mouse controls, high framerates, voice chat, ultrawide display with support for 4K resolution, and more. The game includes a Hunter Hub feature through which you can team up with 3 other players to embar on multiplayer quests.
Those who pre-purchase the game will get a Palamute Retriever Costume layered armor, Palico Forest Cat Costume layered armor, and a Novice Talisman.
God of War (2018) (PC) – January 14
Two months ago in October, Santa Monica Studio revealed that they’re bringing their universally acclaimed title God of War (2018) to PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store) on January 14, 2022. God of War will take advantage of PC hardware to deliver stunning visuals, unlocked framerates, true 4K resolution on supported displays, and more. Check out God of War’s PC system requirements to know if you can run the game at the highest settings.
Also, those who purchase the PC version will receive Death’s Vow Armor Sets for Kratos and Atreus, Exile’s Guardian Shield Skin, Buckler of the Forge Shield Skin, Shining Elven Soul Shield Skin, and Dökkenshieldr Shield Skin.
Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction (Consoles and PC) – January 20
After being delayed from October 2021 release date, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction is coming to Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, Amazon Luna, Google Stadia, and Windows on January 2022. In this upcoming co-op shooter, players will take on a new form of enemy called the Archaeans. The game offers 18 different operators to choose from,12 massive maps, 25 different types of gadgets, over 65 customizable weapons, and more.
Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection (PS5) – January 28
Sony is bringing Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection for the PlayStation 5 on January 28. The collection includes remastered, single-player versions of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. Players will experience near-instant load times, Spatial 3D Audio, and will have three graphics modes to choose from – Fidelity Mode (prioritizes resolution), Performance Mode (prioritizes FPS), and Performance+ Mode (Balanced).

Pokémon Legends: Arceus (Nintendo Switch) – January 28
Nintendo and The Pokémon Company are bringing Pokémon Legends: Arceus to Nintendo Switch on January 28. The game will be set in the yesteryears of the Sinnoh region and will feature RPG elements similar to other Pokémon games. Apart from the regular way of catching Pokémon (weakening it and then throwing the Pokeball), the game introduces another way where players can observe a Pokémon’s behavior, get closer to it, and then go for the catch.
