GameEon Studios, the developer behind upcoming open-world RPG Mumbai Gullies has raised $200,000 in a funding round led by Indian Angel Network (IAN), reports YourStory. The developer will use these funds to develop in-house games and strengthen the distribution pipeline with the content built. Following the funding round, GameEon Studios CEO Nikhil Malankar said, “Gaming is now a part of everyday life for a lot of people. We at GameEon Studios want to bring an immersive experience to all our gamers. It can simulate many real-life situations in a virtual environment.”
So far, GameEon Studios has developed mobile games like Cricket CEO 2021, Adventure King- 3D Ludo, Proving Grounds Multiplayer, Chai Wala CEO, and more. They’re now working on a GTA-style PC game based in Mumbai called Mumbai Gullies.
Mumbai Gullies was announced at IGDC 2020 and in January 2021, the developers released a 38-second trailer giving us a first look at the game. Almost 10 months later, CEO Nikhil Malankar released a 14-minute gameplay footage on his YouTube channel showcasing Mumbai Gullies, gameplay, gunplay, character models, and the open-world environment. With Mumbai Gullies, the developers aim to mirror Mumbai City and all of its elements, from narrow pathways of the slums to spacious urban areas.

The game will release in two parts- A prologue which will be like a market test, is scheduled to release later this year, and the Final Chapter which will come out in 2025. The exact release dates and price are not known but Nikhil has confirmed that the game will be available on PC (Steam and Epic Games Store) and consoles, both old-gen and next-gen.
