We already know that Bioware is working on a new Mass Effect game. During 2020’s Game Awards, they released an official teaser trailer showcasing the game and its iconic character- Liara, but that was about it. Although Bioware still hasn’t revealed official details of the game, they have announced the onboarding of writer Mary DeMarle (she worked on Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and Deus Ex) to the Mass Effect team as a Senior Narrative Director.
She made the announcement on her LinkedIn, but it was Michael Gamble, Project Director at Bioware who confirmed on Twitter that she’d be working with the Mass Effect team.
I’m really excited to let you know that Mary DeMarle will be joining the Mass Effect team as Senior Narrative Director. You’ve seen her work in Guardians of the Galaxy & Deus Ex (to name a few!). She’s amazing.

Mary DeMarle is a sci-fi genre and her experience will surely help Bioware create a world that’ll one-up all previous Mass Effect titles. Her work in Guardians of the Galaxy was recognized with the Best Narrative award at the 2021 Game Awards.
When will we learn more about the new Mass Effect title?
It’s been over a year since Bioware released that teaser trailer and fans are definitely eager to learn more. Back then, the game was still in its early stages but the development seems to have picked up the pace and they’re on to building a world for the game. With that in mind, we can expect an announcement about the new narrative and Liara’s next adventure.
