Ember Labs finally dropped Kena: Bridge of Spirits on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC (Epic Store). It follows the story of Kena who travels through a vast open world to transport spirits from the physical realm to the spirit realm.
The game features a variety of monsters that need to be eliminated to progress through. For that, Kena uses a combination of different weapons and abilities. The game also allows players to upgrade these weapons to deal more damage.
Now there might come a moment when you just get too comfortable with the game and things seem too easy. At that point, you might want to increase the difficulty level to up the ante and keep things challenging. Kena: Bridge of Spirits allows you change the difficulty level at any point in the game. Simply go to Settings > Game > Change difficulty at the top. Just keep in mind that the game will force you to restart from your most recent save point.
If you increase the difficulty level, the monsters will become more aggressive and they’ll also deal higher damage.
Difficulty levels in Kena: Bridge of Spirits
These are the 4 difficulty levels (easiest to hardest) of the game-
- Story Mode: Rot abilities recharge passively and also while dealing damage. Kena will face less aggressive enemies and they’ll deal less damage.
- Spirit Guide: Enemies become slightly more aggressive and Rot abilities recharge only when dealing damage.
- Expert Spirit Guide: Rot abilities recharge only when dealing damage and enemies become more aggressive and deal higher points of damage.
- Master Spirit Guide: Enemies are super aggressive and they deal even more damage. While this mode is active, Kena loses Courage (It powers Kena’s abilities) when taking damage.
To unlock the Master Spirit Guide, players must beat the game on any difficulty level. Also note that once this mode is active, you will not be allowed to lower the difficulty at any point.
