New reports have surfaced that suggest Horizon Zero Dawn, Guerrilla’s popular open-world action RPG, is getting a remaster/remake for PlayStation 5 and a multiplayer version for PC and PlayStation 5.
According to VGC and MP1ST, the remaster/remake will feature improved visuals, new accessibility features, new character models, quality of life improvements, new graphic modes, and more. None of this has been officially confirmed by Guerrilla or Sony Interactive Entertainment.
Is Horizon Zero Dawn getting a remaster or a remake?
Now the reports don’t specify if the new version will be a remake or a remaster. The developers might just be making a remaster by updating the visuals to match that of Zero Dawn’s recently released sequel, Horizon Forbidden West, or going with a full remake like The Last of Us remake which was released last month.
If the developers and Sony are working on a remake, it’ll fall in line with Sony’s plan to remake their old titles for newer hardware, which is the PlayStation 5.
Horizon Zero Dawn multiplayer
Apparently, Zero Dawn is also getting a multiplayer version. This was previously covered by VGC and their new report suggests that Guerrilla is focusing on other aspects of the game. The multiplayer version, if it launches, will be available for both PS5 and PC players.
As we said, nothing is officially confirmed by Sony or Guerrilla. For now, fans can enjoy Forbidden West on PS4 and PS5, the PC version of Zero Dawn that also includes Frozen Wilds expansion.
