MiHoYo’s Genshin Impact recently celebrated its first anniversary. After Honor of Kings and PUBG Mobile, it has become the third mobile game to reach the two billion dollar milestone in revenue in the last year.
Genshin Impact tops the leaderboards in September
Genshin Impact has now been recognised as the top-grossing mobile game of September, according to the latest report by data analyst site Sensor Tower, with 341.7 million USD. Honor of Kings and PUBG Mobile, both from Tencent, were beaten to the top spot. At terms of gross income, Genshin Impact also dethroned Garena Free Fire in the Google Play Store.
The App Store in China accounts for a considerable amount of Genshin Impact’s revenue (31.6 percent), followed by the United States of America (21 percent) and Japan (21.7 percent).
In terms of overall income and app store revenue, PUBG Mobile has slid to third place. However, it was ranked sixth in terms of gross revenue on Google Playstore, up one spot from last month’s review.
Honor of Kings, Tencent’s other famous gaming title, and a popular MOBA game, came in second in terms of gross revenue for the month of September with 209 million dollars. This represents a 10% drop from the previous month. China accounted for over 95% of the income for the Tencent game, with Taiwan accounting for 2%.
