Mobile gaming in India

Mobile gaming has witnessed significant growth in India. This growth was fuelled by lockdowns which were enforced due to the COVID-19 pandemic and people turned to mobile games as a source of entertainment. According to a report by Limelight Networks, Indian gamers were spending an average of 8 hours gaming per week.

Mobile phones remain a popular platform for gaming as they are more affordable than PCs and consoles and the majority of mobile games are free-to-play. In another report by InMobi, it was stated that 45% of Indian mobile users started gaming on their phones during the COVID-19 pandemic.
