Another hint related to PUBG Mobile's release in India has come our way. Gemwire.gg discovered a creative asset that was datamined and it suggests the Indian version of PUBG Mobile is likely called Battlegrounds Mobile India.
According to AFK Gaming, Krafton also registered several domains on March 18 that bear the "Battlegrounds Mobile India" name:
Last week, a short video clip was uploaded on PUBG Mobile India's YouTube channel with the text 'coming soon', but that video was immediately taken down. We all know how Krafton has been trying to get PUBG Mobile unbanned in the country. This creative and the video clip with the 'coming soon' text point at the return of the popular mobile battle royale in India.
Will Battlegrounds Mobile India put up a similar performance to PUBG Mobile?
Yes, fans are eagerly waiting for PUBG Mobile's return in the country but on the other hand, several have moved on to other online mobile games like Free Fire and Call of Duty: Mobile. Another battle royale is also on its way, Electronic Arts' Apex Legends Mobile. The publisher announced the mobile version of their battle royale on April 19 with beta testing kicking off in India and the Philippines on April 28.
There isn't an official release date for either Apex Legends Mobile or Battlegrounds Mobile India, but in any case, if those two games were to release in the same time frame, PUBG Mobile might not perform as well as it did before the ban and we will see organizations making teams for the competitive Apex Legends Mobile scene.
