Free Fire World Series 2021 SG: Phoenix Force from Thailand come out on top at the end of an action-packed grand finale

Free Fire's biggest tournament- the Free Fire World Series 2021 (FFWS 2021 SG), a LAN event played at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, concluded yesterday with an action-packed grand finale. The top 12 teams from all around the world battled across 6 matches and in the end, Phoenix Force from Thailand came out on top with 4 BOOYAHs. They secured first place with 65 points, 48 kills, and a total score of 113. Apart from the trophy, Phoenix Force also took home $500,000 from the total prize pool of $2 million. 

LOUD secured second place with 38 points, 39 kills, and a total score of 77 and took home $250,000. In third place, taking home $100,000, was Silence with 42 points, 31 kills, and a total score of 73. The Cruz from Phoenix Force was the MVP with 23 frags to his name.

Two Indian teams Galaxy Racer and Team Elite were supposed to play in the tournament but due to COVID-19 and resultant travel restrictions, they were not able to travel to Singapore. Even then, both the teams got a portion of money from the prize pool. Galaxy Racer got $60,000 whereas Team Elite got $40,000. 

FFWS 2021 became the most-watched esports event with a peak viewer count of 5.4 million and an average of 2,087,307 viewers. This record was previously held by League of Legends Worlds 2019 which peaked at 3.9 Million live viewers.
