Activision's free-to-play, online shooter game Call of Duty: Mobile has joined to ranks of PUBG Mobile and Clash of Clans to boast 500 million downloads since its release on Android and iOS devices. Publisher Activision took to Twitter to announce the news and also thanked the community and players for their support. To celebrate, the publisher also gifted players with several in-game items.
The game features 5v5 multiplayer modes, a 100 player battle royale, and an assortment of weapons and skins. Activision actively adds new content to the game with every season. Combined with a healthy competitive scene, CODM has grown to become one of the best online mobile games in the world.
A money maker for TiMi Studios
Each season of Call of Duty: Mobile comes with a free and premium battle pass that contains a variety of in-game items like vehicle skins, operator skins, and more. Players have been generous while spending money to obtain these items. Since its release, Call of Duty: Mobile has generated upwards of $1 billion in player spending. This directly impacts TiMi Studio's revenue. Last month, a report stated that CODM developer TiMi Studios generated $10 billion in 2020 making them the world's largest video game developer.

Call of Duty: Mobile is currently running Season 3: Tokyo Escape. It has introduced players to two new weapons, new multiplayer maps, new game modes, and more.
Publisher Activision recently launched a public test server that contained a new map called Dome, clan wars feature, and a new class called Time Traveller. After testing, they are likely to add all these features to the game with the season 4 update.
