It seems that Activision is finally kicking things off with Call of Duty: Mobile Esports. The publisher teased CODM Esports on Twitter with a short video with a call for all CODM competitors from around the globe.
It is likely that Activision is coming up with an international Call of Duty: Mobile tournament and it will have a massive prize pool. Last year, the publisher partnered with Sony to bring the CODM World Championship which had a total prize pool of $1 million.
A massive CODM esports tournament on the cards?
After this announcement, CODM fans are hyped up for a bigger and better Call of Duty: Mobile esports tournament. Although Activision has not revealed any details, an announcement from their side can be expected soon.
Call of Duty: Mobile is developed by TiMi Studios, a Chinese tech giant Tencent subsidiary, and published by Activision for Android and iOS devices. The game was launched in October 2019. Since then, it has been downloaded by over 250 million users and has generated a revenue of more than $450 million. Recently, TiMi Studios became the world's largest developer after generating $10 billion in 2020.
Since PUBG Mobile's ban in India, CODM and Free Fire have been at the forefront of mobile gaming growth in the country. Mobile gaming in India is bigger than PC gaming and an international CODM esports tournament will not only provide top Indian CODM pros to represent the country and showcase their skill on a bigger stage, but also fuel the growth of mobile gaming even further.
