Asus ROG Phone 5 tested by DXOMark revealing official image with AniMe Matrix display

The Asus ROG Phone 5, which is touted to be one of the top gaming smartphones of the year, has undergone an audio review by DXOMark. The DXOMark audio review of the Asus ROG Phone 5 gives us detailed insights into the audio prowess of the smartphone, but also a look at the hardware of the phone- from the front and the back. These pictures confirm some of the hardware specifications we were expecting- especially the AniMe Matrix Display at the back.

Asus ROG Phone 5 DXOMark Audio Review Scores

In the DXOMark audio review, the Asus ROG Phone 5 scored 79 points. This puts the gaming smartphone at the top of the audio score table. It surpasses high-performance smartphones such as the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro, Huawei Mate X, Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max, and others by 3 to 5 points.

Elaborating on the ‘79’ figure, DXOMark explained “The DXOMARK Audio overall score of 79 for the Asus ROG Phone 5 is derived from its Playback and Recording scores and their respective sub-scores.” To ensure good performance, the phone will be equipped with five microphones, a headphone jack and two symmetrical front-firing speakers. DXOMark said it has a wide soundstage and produces low distortion and noise even at loud volume levels.

To summarize the findings, it certifies that the phone audio will make playing games and listening to music an enjoyable experience.

Asus ROG Phone 5 Specifications

Specifications of the phone are also touched upon in the review. The phone comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G SoC, as was pointed out earlier by internet sleuths. The gaming phone will likely have a 6.7-inch FHD+ display with a 144Hz refresh rate. It will also have at least 12GB RAM and 128GB storage. Asus will also release a 16GB RAM variant, which is expected to have 256GB storage inside.

The AniMe Matrix display is one of the key features of this gaming smartphone. It is a technology taken from Asus’ ROG line of laptops that puts a customizable display at the back of the phone. Users can use the display to showcase a piece of themselves and extend their personalities. Asus ROG Phone launches on March 10.
