Free Fire witnesses a massive 162% surge in viewership in 2020
Garena’s popular multiplayer action game Free Fire has witnessed a 162% growth in terms of viewership reports STREAM HATCHET. According to their findings, Free Fire completely dominated the mobile gaming industry by putting up over 100 million viewers across Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook consistently for 7 months.
Free Fire is developed by 111 Dots Studio and published by Garena, the game is widely popular especially in India, Brazil, and Indonesia. The availability of mobile phones with some of the fastest chips and high-resolution display, and organizers coming up with frequent tournaments featuring large prize pools have contributed towards the growth of this game.
Is Free Fire the best mobile game?

Leaving the tournaments and gaming mobile phones aside, Free Fire itself is also capable of standing on it’s own. It is a game that offers fast-paced action, assortment of weapons to choose from, and multiplayer gameplay where teams are pitted against each other on large maps. These parameters coupled with Free Fire’s survival-shooter environment is enough to take on the likes of other giants of mobile gaming like PUBG Mobile and Call of Duty Mobile.
Free Fire’s growth is showing no signs of slowing down and it continues to increase it’s player-base. Last month, Ryan Wyatt, Head of Gaming at YouTube reported that since it’s release in 2017, Free Fire racked up over 100 billion lifetime views on YouTube. This gives us a sense of just how influential Free Fire is and it’s widespread popularity. Free Fire also won the Esports Mobile Game of the Year at the Esports Awards 2020 beating PUBG Mobile and Cal of Duty Mobile.
