Forza Horizon 5 is releasing in a couple of months and to focus on its launch, developer Playground Games is pulling the plug on new content for Fora Horizon 4. In the latest Forza Monthly show (as spotted by Video Games Chronicles), Tom Butcher, Senior Producer at Playground Games said “With Forza Horizon 5’s release being our priority over the next few months, we’ve made some changes to Forza Horizon 4’s monthly series update,” Butcher said. “So starting with Series update 38, players who know the game well will start to see the return of content from Series 7 to 32. Think of it a bit like a mixtape, featuring the return of some of your favorite content combined with recently added new features”.
Forza Horizon 4 frequently received fresh content in the form of new cars and missions through updates and DLCs.
No more new cars
Currently, Forza Horizon 4 features over 700 cars, from the bygone era of the 1920s to some of the latest racing beasts. Now that there are no new cars to look forward to, players can get in these old ones and revisit older challenges in the game.
Tom said “Although we aren’t planning to add all-new cars and features over these next months, you should have a lot of fun revisiting these moments and seeing how you handle them the second time around. And obviously, with all of our recent Series updates, you’ll have photo challenges, rewards, Forzathon Shop, and backstage voting all going on as well as usual.”
Earlier this month, during their E3 showcase, Microsoft announced that Forza Horizon 5 will release on November 9, 2021, for PC and Xbox consoles.
