Elden Ring, FromSoftware’s epic action RPG has bagged a record number of Game of the Year awards in 2022. According to ResetEra, Elden Ring has bagged 338 Game of the Year awards, surpassing The Last of Us Part 2’s GOTY award tally of 322 in 2020.
Elden Ring won GOTY awards from 293 media outlets globally and 43 from polls. Most recently, it won GOTY at Steam Awards 2022, and before that, at Game Awards 2022 and Golden Joystick Awards 2022.

As far as Game of the Year awards goes, Santa Monica Studios’ God of War Ragnarok takes second place with a total of 83 awards. Immortality comes in third with 7, and Horizon Forbidden West is fourth with 5 Game of the Year awards to its name.
Elden Ring was released in February 2022 and it quickly became a favorite within the community. On Steam, the game peaked at 953,426 concurrent players just a week after its release. Even today, the game is played by an average of 50,000 players daily on Steam. It is also one of the top-selling games on the platform.
