Cyberpunk 2077 had 1 million players every day last week, developer CDPR announced on Twitter. The game has had a resurgence following the Phantom Liberty expansion announcement, Edgerunner’s anime release, and new content that was added to the game via patch 1.6.
CDPR thanked the community saying “Each day of this week Night City has been visited by 1 million players, both new and returning. We wanted to use this opportunity to thank you for being with us and playing the game. Thanks, Chooms!”

Last week it was reported that Cyberpunk 2077 hit its second-highest player count on Steam.
CDPR is committed to developing the Cyberpunk 2077 IP further
In their recent earnings call, CD Projekt Red stated that they’re committed to developing the Cyberpunk 2077 IP, but not in the gaming world. They plan on releasing the Phantom Liberty expansion in 2023, but after that, new content will be in the form of other media.
It’ll be exciting to see what CDPR has in store for the IP in the future. We might get another season of the Edgerunner’s anime or an animated movie perhaps?
