CS:GO was the most betted esports title of 2020 according to LOOT.BET
Popular esports bookmaker LOOT.BET has revealed the esports betting statistics of 2020 on their platform. According to their research, CS:GO was the most popular esports title to bet on in 2020 with 53% of the total money placed on LOOT.BET.
CS:GO also had the highest number of online tournaments which resulted in the highest prize pool among any esports title in 2020. There was no Major for CS:GO there was no shortage of CS:GO tournaments throughout 2020.
DOTA2 was the second most betted esports title of 2020
CS:GO was followed by DOTA2 which occupied 35% of the total money placed on LOOT.BET. 10th edition of The International was cancelled in 2020 owing to the COVID19 pandemic but DOTA2 fans have a reason to cheer as the games most prestigious tournament will be held this year and it features a massive prize pool of over $40 million. League of Legends took third place with 7% of the total money placed on the platform.
LOOT.BET also reports that most money was placed on CS:GO’s ESL One Road to Rio tournament which was followed by DOTA2’2 Epic League and Legends Pro League (LPL) Summer for League of Legends.
According to the bookmaker, citizens from Ukraine, Sweden, and Hungary were the luckiest betters while those from Spain, Canada, and South Korea were the unluckiest. Highest median odds were recorded in countries like India, Philippines and Poland while Spain, Indonesia, and South Korea were the most cautious countries by median odds.
LOOT.BET itself registered a 58% rise in active users and a 67% increase in betting volumes in 2020.
