Call of Duty: Mobile generates $14 million in just one week of launch in China
Data analytics site Sensor Tower has released a report saying that Call of Duty: Mobile has generated over $14 million in player spending in one week of the games launch in China. Call of Duty: Mobile launched in China on Christmas Day last year where it recorded 70 million pre-registrations.
Between December 25 and December 31, Honor of Kings generated $64 million, PUBG Mobile generated $24 million, and Fantasy Westward Journey generated $23 million in China. Coming in fourth was Call of Duty: Mobile with $14 million.
Call of Duty Mobile pumping up the numbers
In the report, Sensor Tower also states that Call of Duty: Mobile has generated a lifetime revenue of $640 million since its launch in October 2019. In terms of player spending, the USA leads with approximately $287 million, followed by Japan and Germany. 61% of the total player spending is coming from the App Store whereas player spending from Play Store contributes to 39%.
Call of Duty: Mobile has already exceeded 300 million downloads worldwide and the number is expected to grow even further as its influence increases in China. Soon, if not already, Call of Duty: Mobile will be right up there with PUBG Mobile and Free Fire as one of the best mobile multiplayer shooter games in the world.
Activision has also made sure that new content is frequently being added to the game. Currently, Season 13 is live which has brought new maps, new weapons, and a new multiplayer mode to the game.
