Marvel’s Avengers has had somewhat of a rocky start. The game came out last year, and since then, it has struggled to grab the attention of players, especially on PC. On paper, this game sounds like a dream- a co-op adventure where you and your friends can play as the legendary Avengers, but the execution of the game, poor performance and optimization made the game a miss with gamers.
Now, with the latest add on for the game, War for Wakanda, Square Enix are introducing Black Panther to the game. This is a step by the developers towards attracting more players, and is also the biggest expansion to Marvel’s Avengers.
War for Wakanda is a Free Update to Marvel’s Avengers
War for Wakanda is a free update for anyone who owns the base game. The Expansion tells an original Black Panther story. Ulysses Klaw has infiltrated Wakanda’s borders to mine the nation’s precious Vibranium, putting King T’Challa’s leadership to the test and bringing a wat in its wake.
Play as Black Panther in War for Wakanda
The King, of course, is our new playable Hero. Black Panther’s abilities reward defensive play – blocks and parries build your Intrinsic Meter that when full allows you to release a burst of kinetic energy. He can also be played as a fierce predator too, with a unique pounce mechanic that lets you grapple large and small enemies to the ground, attacking them with your Vibranium claws.
Other key additions of the add-on include big changes to character menus and overall user interface to make managing gear and navigating menus speedier and more intuitive. You can now “mass dismantle” items in your inventory, and you can access your gear locker from anywhere now too, instead of only accessing it from an Outpost.
All in all, this is a great expansion pack, considering it is free for all players who own Marvel’s Avengers. It also brings a host of new game mechanics to explore, which makes for a more unique experience.
