Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) was first released in India for the android version on 2nd July, 2021 and the iOS version was released on 18th August, 2021 for the country. Time has passed in the tune of two months for the android player base and approximately half a month for people using Apple devices in order to play the game.
During this ample time, Krafton has given all the new BGMI players irrespective of their devices and operating software, a chance to have their data transferred from their old accounts in the now banned game of erstwhile PUBG Mobile, which would include all unlocked character skins, all of the previously acquired weapon skins and every other item that a player had amassed in their inventory.
BGMI disables data transfer feature for Facebook-linked accounts
This particular change in the way data transfer is done shall for the time being is only limited to the Android Operating Systems (AOS) whereas there has been no official update regarding the operating system for iPhones and other Apple devices.
The official notice update also states that the game of Battlegrounds Mobile India will not allow logging in after 5th October unless the android device has the application of Facebook is installed on the phone. This is specifically for those BGMI accounts who have their logins through the facebook account linked to their BGMI accounts.
As stated by the official notice from the developers Krafton on the official YouTube channel for BGMI –
We would like to request you to proceed with the data transfer before September 28th if you wish to do it using your Facebook linked account. Also, after October 5th, logins will be disabled unless the Facebook App is installed on your device; we apologize for the inconvenience, but please install the Facebook App to use the game.
