A known EA games leaker has revealed some information about the upcoming unnamed Battlefield game. He goes by the name @_Tom_Henderson_ on Twitter, and has revealed that the game will be set in a somewhat futuristic world, which is 10 years ahead of our current world.
He released a newsletter containing information about the leaks and detailing his findings of the game, but the futuristic setting is one of the most notable. According to Henderson we can expect to see military robots, drones, and jets, as well as current-day helicopters and tanks, naturally, with a little bit of a twist.

In his newsletter, Henderson states that the game will have a futuristic setting and will feature a “revolutionary” campaign. Furthermore, he details that you will operate a specialist team, for either the USA, or Russia. The campaign will also feature co-op support throughout, so you’ll be able to fight in squads along with your friends.
There is also information on the online component of the game, which is said to be much better and more enhanced than the multiplayer mode found on Battlefield 3 and 4 as it is much bigger in scale and scope. Furthermore, there’s also a battle royale mode on the way, but most likely after the launch of the main game. In the mode, you will be able to play as one of four classes, each with different perks. However, EA has confirmed nothing yet.
The game will be simply called “Battlefield”, which does not seem all that exciting. In the same stride, a cinematic trailer without gameplay is expected to come out sometime in May.
