A month after update 1.4.0, Ubisoft is bringing the next update to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla today, December 14. Title update 1.4.1 will feature changes to difficulty settings, new crossover events, gameplay improvements, and more.
The update size is approximately 69 GB on Xbox Series X/S, 60 GB on Xbox One, 39 GB on PlayStation 5, 65 GB on PlayStation 4, and 77 GB on PC. Ubisoft states that update 1.4.1 uses data restructuring resulting in an overall smaller game file size. “This update delivers a data restructure of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, requiring a full reinstall of the game files, resulting in overall smaller file size, faster loading screen times and runtime performance, and improved world data streaming,” they said.

New crossover events in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Odyssey
As a part of this update, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is getting the A Fated Encounter crossover story. Players will meet Odyssey’s Kassandra on the Isle of Skye and embark on a new quest. To access this crossover story, players will need to reach Settlement Level 4 and complete the A Wise Friend quest. On the other hand, Odyssey players will get access to the Those Who Are Treasured crossover story that will take players to a new quest on Korfu Island. To access this story, complete chapter 1 and reach Megaris to find the quest giver at Sami’s Port on Kephallonia Island.
Completed Valhalla’s crossover story will unlock Odyssey-themed rewards and completing Odyssey’s crossover will unlock Valhalla-themed rewards. For Odyssey players, this update will be approximately 13 GB.
Yule festival and other updates
Yule Festival will run in Valhalla from December 16 – January 6. Participants will be rewarded with new items like snowy beards and settlement decorations.
Updates to combat, stealth, and exploration settings include new options to change the Parry timing window, Brush with Death timing window, Detection escape times, Search duration times, along with options to toggle Unguided Objectives Off / On. Other changes include gameplay fixes, stability improvements, addressing UI/HUD issues, and more. You can read the patch notes to know more.
Meanwhile, Ubisoft announced the Dawn of Ragnarok expansion for Valhalla, scheduled to release on March 10, 2022.
