Respawn Entertainment has rolled out an update in Apex Legends to nerf Seer’s abilities. Seer was introduced earlier this month with the launch of Season 10: Emergence and players complained of him being overpowered, especially with his Heartseeker ability that allowed him to locate nearby enemies by listening to their heartbeats.
Good morning! We just shipped a @playapex update that fixes a few bugs and introduces balance changes to Seer.

Apex Legends Seer changes
Here’s what Seer and his abilities look like after the balance update-
- Heart Seeker (Passive)- Wait time between sensor spikes has been increased from 1.25 seconds to 1.75 seconds, and field of view and range have also been reduced.
- Focus of Attention (Tactical)- With this ability, Seer can scan for enemies and interrupt whatever action they’re doing at the time. After this update, the detonation delay has been increased to 1.6 seconds from previous 1.4 seconds. Moreover, players hit with this ability won’t get flashed or take damage, and Seer’s movement speed while using this ability has also been reduced.
- Exhibit (Ultimate)- Seer’s ultimate creates a dome that reveals enemy positions within it. With this balance update, the cooldown time has been increased from 90 seconds to 120 seconds.
It seems that this balance update is not enough. Over at the Apex Legends subreddit, some players want Seer to be nerfed even further as he can still interrupt healing. Respawn might take note of this and release another balancing update in the future.
Cross-progression in Apex Legends
Meanwhile, fans are eagerly waiting for cross-progression in Apex Legends. The game supports cross-platform play but Ryan Rigney, Director of Communication at Respawn said they’ll add cross-progression in 2022.
