Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition November update: What to expect
Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition is a real-time strategy, singleplayer/multiplayer game developed by Forgotten Empires, Tantalus Media, and Wicked Witch for PC. Age of Empires II: Definite Edition will be completing one year of its release next month on 14 November 2020. To celebrate this joyous occasion, a massive update will be rolled out that will bring out lots of changes to the game.
A preview for AoE II: Definitive Edition’s ‘November Update’ was uploaded on Age of Empires’ official YouTube Channel. Here’s what you can expect from the celebratory update.
New game mode, new UI, and more
Battle Royale Mode
One of the most interesting features the update will bring is the Battle Royale Mode. Unlike battle-royale games like COD Mobile and Fall Guys where a crowd of players are competing against each other, the Battle Royale mode for Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition will have up to 8 players in a free-for-all contest where the last-man-standing will be the victor.
To celebrate the launch of this mode, the first Battle Royale Championship has been organized on October 31 featuring some of the best Age of Empires II players of the world including The Viper, TaToH, and DauT. This championship will have a prize pool of $10,000 and will be streamed live here on 31 October 2020 at 11 am ET / 8 am PT / 8.30 pm IST.
The update will completely change the civilization UI of the game. This new UI will convey information and differences of various civilizations in a better way which will make it easier for players to choose. Tips and tricks have also been added to the loaded screen.
The Main Menu UI has also been changed. This change will make it easier for players to navigate through the various number of options on the Main Menu.
The November update adds a new feature called “Quick Play”. With this feature, the amount of time required to get into a match of Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition has been reduced and you can quickly join a match in different game types like- Random Map, Empire Wars, and Battle Royale.
Civilization balances and bug fixes
Age of Empires II: Definite Edition November update will also nerf and buff some civilizations in an attempt to even out the battlefield and make the game more balanced. Some bug-fixes can also be expected with the update. Full list of changes will be available only when the update goes live.
