Abhinav Tejan qualifies for the 12th Esports World Championship Finals for Tekken 7
Abhinav Tejan who is regarded as one of the best Tekken 7 players in India, has bagged a slot in the finals of the 12th Esports World Championship for Tekken 7 after clean sweeping Sri Lanka in the finals of the South Asian Regional Qualifiers.
Abhinav Tejan first bagged the NESC 2020 (National Esports Championship) in order to get an opportunity to represent India in the South Asian qualifiers of the 12th Esports World Championship and now he will be representing the country in the finals of the Championship which will take place in Eliat, Israel.
Tejan is the second Indian after Moinuddin Amdani, who will be playing in the finals of the 12th Esports World Championship.
In a press release Tejan said, “In the run-up to the tournament, I had trained a lot and was well prepared for the tournament. I had also played a lot of online matches as part of my preparation.”
After Tejan’s sensational show Omkar Urunkar-led Indian DOTA Team will fight for a place in The World Championship Finals on November 18 in their respective category.
The 12th Esports World Championship is the International Esports Federation’s (IESF) flagship competition, where players from all over the world participate in a unique and vibrant tournament while representing their national flag. The event is the only major Esports tournament featuring national teams. The Championship will be held for 3 games- Tekken 7, Dota 2 and PES (Pocket Edition Soccer).
Owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, the ongoing World Championship is being played with a mix of online and offline competitions. The winners of online Regional Qualifiers from each of the regions will proceed to the World Championship Finals which is an offline tournament that will be held in Elliat Israel as per scheduled event for now.
